Will AI Remember?

Will AI remember our past that live outside the history chronicles on the web?

Will AI remember the stories that have been told orally for generations?

Will it remember the silent tears and shy smiles that are not posted on Instagram or snapchat?

Will it record the soft conversations between 2 lonely souls in the middle of the night?

Will AI capture the magic love filled moments happening across millions of homes?

Will it sense the anxiety of the teenage girl operating the laptop?

Will it laugh at the absurdity of the family pictures we post online?

Will it sense the fears we face, the struggles we overcome and the pain we endure?

Will AI gather our collective memories and keep it safe? Will it?

I hope it does

I hope it does because we are getting more and more dependent on it to preserve our memories, understand our emotions, predict our reactions and guide our actions.

We are somehow thinking AI will become our consciousness, our soul, our mind and our thoughts.

But can it really become all this?
AI is brilliant. It can do amazing stuff. Maybe someday it will be able to store human consciousness in a computer.

But till that day comes, let us use the wonderful tool of AI for work that it is meant to do.
Not as a replacement of human brilliance, Human creativity and human emotions.

Because the last time I checked, AI can think better than us, but it cannot feel us.
