Mom I wish I knew it then

I wish I knew as a kid that doodling was an Art.

I wish I knew that your scribbles in dairies, Telephone books and newspapers were not scribbles.

I wish I knew that those scribbles were your suppressed emotions on Paper.

I wish the child in me knew that scribbling random designs on paper gave you a sense of freedom.

I wish I knew then

I would have ensured  that you were applauded for your doodles rather than reprimanded for spoiling pages in a book.

I wish I knew Mom

Because if I had

I would have hugged you and got you lots of blank papers and pens.

And I would have proudly proclaimed to the world that

“My Mom is an Artist”
